I get some very small dark looking birds(??) going after Rose of Sharon blossoms. My sister says they are "Hummingbird moths." Is there such a thing?

A few photos of our birds this year. The last one is the male that comes now, didnt get a photo of the female. DI and I happened to be out on the front porch when he showed up. I have the same exact feeder! I love that it has perches for them to sit and eat.

Actually I have been practicing being "invisible." I've wanted that since I was a kid. Figured if no one could see me, nothing bad would ever happen to me. Besides it was so cool in the old Invisible Man movies, where he would unwrap himself and nothing was there. This was way before cgi - wow.

And yes, there are hummingbird moths.

There are, and they are fascinating. We only have 1 kind of hummingbird here, so when I saw them I knew they couldn't be that.

You mean like ostriches when they (allegedly) put their heads in the sand so they can not be seen?
