I have the same issue with some of my kids... and spouse... good grief!I DO have hearing loss on both sides, accompanied by tinnitus (nice scream going on right now). My favorite oldest daughter often accused/s me of being deaf, or selective hearing. The truth is, she speaks right in the octave where my hearing is worst, and WHISPERS most of the time, or turns her head away while talking, further compounding my ability to hear her.I have repeatedly explained these issues to her and asked her to speak directly at me and to SPEAK UP!
I would hear her "making some soft noise", identifying that she was saying something, but not what. She no longer lives with me, so not a routine issue any longer, but it got to the point that I told her if she didn't do these things I was going to ignore her. I couldn't hear her or understand her words anyway, so why worry and fret about it?
Besides, if there's something she wants me to hear, the onus is on her to do what's necessary for me to receive her message.
Careful, the paint is still wet!@Sylv Welcome to the old folks home glad you stopped in there is a chair with your name on it
