The Old Folks Home

Well that was easy... I have located the obelisk's home... pretty sure it's in another cemetery in the next town up, not the one that was mentioned, but on the same road.

This is the inscription on the stone(s) there according to the inscription project I have access to digitally search (Nellie and Sibyl are on the stone in the driveway on the Burleigh road, going to go with this is a winner winner chicken dinner):

Burleigh, Hall C., 13 Dec 1826-17 May 1895.
Clarissa K. [Garland], wife, 18 Sep 1833-13 Feb 1915.
Sibyl Drummond, 26 Dec 1857-16 May 1876.
Nellie Elizabeth, 2 May 1874-8 Nov 1876.
Clara May, 5 March 1856-8 Jan 1934.
Dessa Mary, 17 June 1883-20 July 1930.
Samuel A., 1870-1952.
Nettie C., 1874-1963.

Will have to take a trip out to that cemetery and see if I can't locate stones or another obelisk. It's possible that was a mistake or a replacement. It's also possible the stone was moved after the inscription project (this one was 1970 and 71 only) recorded it.

SCG there should be a tv show focusing on your work at cemeteries and and your sleuthing ability to find them. Very interesting.

I have to tell you I think I've used up about a month of my allotted friendliness in just a few hours today. I'm not that friendly to begin with, and having to smile through my social awkwardness and social panic really wears me out. Fortunately when I want something bad enough I can overcome the social panic.

DD1 filed for her Canada student visa online last night. Got a response today saying it was granted. Bizarrely she has to pick it up at the border when she goes to school ... in January. Every border crossing can print visas??

We've decided we need to head north until we find a TD Bank across the border and open her an account. We can then transfer money from a TD Bank here to her account there and they can deal with the exchange rate. Then she can write checks in Canadian money for her school costs.
