The Old Folks Home

Yep, @1muttsfan, Missouri just passed the medicinal marijuana bill. You would be amazed how many people on the forum I used for Lyme disease advocated it's use for control of symptoms. IL must have had a medicinal use clause somewhere because we would get the thc extract in pill form to give to end stage cancer patients to ease nausea from chemo and radiation.

I checked my providers formulary for 2019 and there are no changes, in fact the # of pain killers they will pay for a month's supply has gone up.

Yep Penny, you sound like me. Pain meds used to last almost 2 months but now last a month since doc chastised me about not taking them twice a day. Funny thing, I keep hearing about dependency and I must be the odd ball (no big surprise there) because I've skipped them not needing them and never felt any burning desire to take them because they give me a buzz. Because they don't. They just make the pain go away.

Makes me wonder if there is a biological flaw in some people that make them more susceptible to addiction no matter what the substance is.

On to other things.

I was reading the local penny press and saw an add that read:

FOR SALE: Blue India Peafowl
2017 hatch. $80 pair.

Followed by the phone number and location which is north of Kirksville. They had spelled peafowl wrong, but that makes me wonder if they know what they have and how much they are really worth or another thought...what's wrong with them? I mean, M McM wants something like 50$ apiece for the chicks. DH asked me if I wanted to call about them and I told him no. Too labor intensive for my liking and like I said, with my luck I'd be buying diseased birds again. Oh well, live and learn.

Florida passed the medical marijuana bill 2 years ago. So far, they're trying to figure out legality issues, since it's still illegal on a Federal level. They're trying to figure out which medical issues should qualify, how to identify those qualified for it, etc. The one thing they have figured out is that anyone getting legal medical marijuana would have to surrender all firearms, and never be able to use them again. Maybe by 2026 they'll figure it out, and set up dispensaries.

We are starting to get both medical and recreational going here. It would be better if the Federal law would loosen up--The product is taxed at the illegal tax rate--and not businness or other exemptions or credits. It is like what they charted Al Capone--Federal income tax. The State charges a lot of sales tax too which all adds a lot to the cost

They sure love any excuse to take away rights!

When I had my first stints put in the Dr. Gave me a RX for Plavix. It was 300.00
A friend told me her sister got hers from Canada drugs and it was 100.00 for the same 3 month supply. My Dr faxed them a script and he asked me to bring in the meds so he could look at them to make sure it was the same meds. It was. So maybe that's an option for dh in his recovery.
They mail you the prescription.

I just called them and they said they do not carry any controlled medications.
