Containment is good! The fire will still be burning though. This one is supposed to burn until Dec. 1

DH and I got bronchitis after breathing smoke from burning a big pile of limbs and dead trees. The wind switched and caught us in the smoke. We couldn't get out of it without breathing a few deep breaths of smoke. 24 hours later we were hacking our lungs out and running fevers.

Made us extra careful around fires.

My little hen is still with me this morning, still looking puny but hanging in there. She is in a pen by herself now chowing down on scrambled egg yolk laced with probiotic and vitamins with a container of food and another of terramycin laced water. I'm doing all I can do for her, now it's between her and God. At least she is eating well and has been wormed. I need to get a look at her poo yet which I'll do later.

Cold here this morning and windy. Typical early winter/late autumn weather for MO.

@ronott1 and anyone else in the line of danger from those fires, stay safe.

An article in our local paper said that half of California was in the bad to hazardous air range between the fires up north and down south. That is a huge area and millions of people.

Those with breathing issues are in the most danger. There have been a lot of days like this so far this fire season too. We are down to un healthy today. better than hazardous!

The feed lot across the street had a building catch fire two day ago. I was talking to my daughter on the porch and saw it start. I called the owner and had dh tell them the building was on fire. A car pulled over at the same time I saw it start. I figured they were calling 911 so we called the livestock auction house to notify the owner.
They got her quick but the fire Dept took 15 minutes. And they only have a water truck. By the time they were out of water another fire truck arrive then 3 more. finally fire truck that had a hose to hook to a hydrant and they got it under control. But not out. It finished burning to the ground. But lucky it did not spread to the 2 hay barns.
Yesterday they were burying the whole mess. They did save a tractor and a mixer. They are still cleaning it up to rebuild today.
