Sorry you have a delay, But most hugs are innocent

Scott

You obviously haven't met my ex's family. I was warned about Uncle Peter before I even got into the state of Maine.

10.13 is Columbus Day. Christopher Columbus Day.

Thank you. I was going there, too.

Take a paper towel, "roll up" the far sides of it and shove it up your nose like a nasal tampon. It's a great look for you and will minimize the amount of pain from blowing with a towel.

Did I miss something? At least Pippy didn't mate with Jay Leno Rock. That offspring would be all ears and chin.

Given that this was the most painful squeeze ever-- painful enough I almost asked the nurse to STOP, but didn't figureing I could tough it out for a minute as the cuff released pressure. To go to my primary and get a reading requires a billable appt.

Quote: I'll call the office today and see if I can get an appt to recheck this number.

What amazes me is that both arms are not checked for BP-- that is supposed to be the tell if they numbers are very different.

Here is a very impressive article on high blood pressure in lay man's terms

THanks oz.

I admire farmers-- tough work and lots of money at stake and at the mercy of MOther Nature. THe farmers feed all of us in the US but are not valued. Having chickens has allowed for a number of conversation about where food comes from, the costs of producing, and watching the weather reports regularly.

Arielle Do you have any of the big chain stores near you? Our Walmart & Costco have blood pressure testing machines people can use for free. The doctor always told me to take the pressure 3 x and then the average is your score.

Okay I'm not good at math, so I take it three times and the reading I like best, is the one I record. Usually the first reading is HIGH, I hate the cuff getting so tight. By the 2nd. time it drops a bit, and the third time is usually the reading I write down.

To be honest I've had nurses that didn't know what the heck they were doing. Also nurses that said they couldn't hear any sounds when taking my bp. Same with them taking my pulse.

I told them I purposely stopped my heart just to spook them.

a home BP machine is about the cost of 2 sacks of chicken feed.

Your BP will be highes first thing in the morning. Thats the best time to record it if you want to be real.

OK, you guys officially have me spooked. I'm younger the ya all and my pressure runs 120/80 + every time I check it. I'm not old enough for regular checkups an absolute necessity so haven't seen any doc since my last pregnancy, about 4 yrs ago. What age should a person start watching this closely?

The best thing to do is to get a home blood pressure monitor. There is a list of ones that are accurate but the best thing to do is to take it with you to the Doctors office and have it verified by them.

Yes, you should monitor your blood pressure at much younger ages than you would think. If you do not have heart problems, yo are likely fine.

Bye,

Ron
