Now that's just uncalled for. Going to be 48 again today, then heading back down to tundra temperatures where we should be on Wednesday.


Clipped chicken toenails last night. I have a couple birds that for some reason don't scratch enough to keep their nails filed, so I go out every few months and clip them with dog nail clippers before they get too scraggly. One of my hens also has enormous spurs and I noticed last night one of them had grown very long and curly and was about 1/8 of an inch from the skin of her leg. I trimmed that, too. I have heard horror stories of spur trimmings but it really seemed almost dried out and hollow at the end. I only cut about an inch off, just so it wouldn't pierce her leg. Not sure if I did it the correct way but at least it's out of the way for now.

When I did two of silky nails about fell over laughing at myself did the two asking BF turn her around so I can get the back ooops nope only two but clipped one to shot looks like someone lost their head in here

If it isn't going to grow into her leg, you did it right! I need to grab Yue (6.5 year old Ancona) she has one toe that twists out and the nail grows long. Not sure which came first, the twist or the long nail.

Sure is! 80°F+ is getting into the uncomfortable range! Mid 40's here today. Changed the oil in my car now time to go shopping.

There is a gentle breeze, so it's really nice out.

I got all my o-ring dampeners replaced on my keyboard. That's a tedious job. My what a difference in feel. These are a little larger than the red ones, so the travel distance for the key to hit the switch is reduced. It makes it a lot faster to type, and faster response time in my games. These are the ones I originally considered. Dh ordered the red ones without my knowledge, and said they were a surprise. Not true. I had it set so it sounded like an old fashioned typewriter. I love the sound of a typewriter. He hated the noise, so he ordered the dampeners. I had original considered the blue ones that I have now, since it would speed up response time.

Tonight is my cookie class. I'm stoked

Here is my first attempt at Flow Icing Cookies. They looked better before my grandbaby kept trying to grab them, but I don't think I did too bad. It's something that requires practice, but I have a lot of willing victims, er, taste testers, that will eat my mistakes, until I get my technique perfected.
