The Old Folks Home

Oh boy, was I sick at first on this keto! It took a good three weeks. Not sure why. I did Atkin's back in the 70's. Did fine..younger I guess. I don't care what name they put on these high protein diets, .it's the same as Atkin's.
The radiation treatmens post cancer surgery left me with a REALLY sensitive digestive tract.... Suffice it to say food didnt stay long enough to be digested... I lived on immodium.... it took me three months to wean myself.... then Keto comes along and I am back on the immodium.... I couldnt do it Just couldnt stand it any longer.

Sigh. Oh I lost weight... as well as about three pairs of pants and underware that went into the trash....

Yep Yep.... Its the fat that triggers it. I dont have a gall bladder... Doesnt help at all.

Been gallbladder-less since 1986.

Don't know which was worse. The acute pain, nausea and diarrhea that came when it went bad or getting over the surgery and the pain, nausea and diarrhea. Took me 5 years before my body finally got use to not having that little troublemaker around.

I was smart enough to save all my small sized jeans when my weight swang up the last time. Fun breaking open all the boxes and getting them back out again.

I suspect I was eating all the wrong foods for the wrong reasons due to how bad I was feeling and how much pain I was in. I wasn't really hungry. Now I eat until I'm in mid fork, look at it and realize I'm full and really don't want another bite and then push my plate away.

I think I'm eating about 12-14 hundred calories per day. Should be eating somewhere around 15-16. Doc wants me to eat 18. Told him I got fat on 1,800 calories.

Yep, part of that I blame on the lack of a gall bladder no matter what they say.

Perchie, I too live on the little green tablet.

No footprints on my side of the property (rock wall). Many prints on the other side but I'm unable to tell how old. Have a text out to the neighbor to see if he was possibly out there at 4 am. There is really no reason for anyone to be out there at 4 am or to be on either of our property. I am very rural and at the end of a dead end dirt road. There is no regular road near us and the property all the way at the end of our road is a large farm with hundreds of acres that borders the shore of the lake, and the lake is also in front of our property with a vacant lot and a seasonal camp in front of us. A major ITS route runs through those 2 properties but it's more than a half mile walk from where I was today (I walk Ripley on it).

Need to keep a gun close at hand for foreseeable future Please

I remember the little green tablet. Used to have a very nervous stomach but in time I couldn't tolerate even half of the tiny pill without things going the "other way." I haven't taken any in many years.

I lose lbs. mainly in my sleep - no joke. Sometimes I sleep through the entire day which means no eating at all. But I do keep up with water intake. Other times I run out of edible things and the bus isn't going to the grocery stores. No big deal. Or run out of $$$ for the month. It happens, I adjust. Just remembered I have a pound of pistachio nuts in the fridge. That'll do. Plus a little left of the pork and beans. See nothing to it.

I agree with Penny.....just in case.

Barred owls around here are described as hooting, Who cooks for you Who cooks for you all. Great horned have a clear spooky Hoot. Never heard any own say Hello. I've heard calls going on back and forth by the local owl population that sounds almost like laughter. Very spooky just after dark coming from the timber.

Don't know if it is courtship calling or juveniles calling out for their parents.

Got my broody in the broody buster. She is one po'ed little hen. Makes me glad they can't pull a trigger. But she worries me. With their history, she doesn't need this physical stress. Even if she pops out of it, her body weight is down so she may be my next loss. Hope not. She is a very sweet little hen.
