The Old Folks Home

I put the chicks in something larger. They had outgrown the plastic storage container brooder. I have at least one that the toes have more recently curled sideways. No, they're not broken. No, they weren't curled like that the first week, and a half after hatching, so I think it's a bit late in the game to put a boot on it. No, the toes are not broken. Yes, they are eating good feed. Nutrena chick starter. I don't like their feather quality either. I've got one that has very little down, so it looks sort of bald, but it does have some of it's feathers trying to come in. Tomorrow, I'm going to mix some Mana Pro Gamebird/Showbird feed into their Chick starter feed. It's got a very high protein content, so boosting their protein may help. I'm not holding out any great hope for them though. They're just very poor quality birds.
I would wonder if the bag of feed you are using is old, or got too hot...

Sounds like a lack of vitamins. I would give them the vitamins suggested to fix wry neck (is that E?) As well as nutritional yeast.

All he needs to do is put in a new flush handle/rod assembly. It's old, worn, and sticks. 3 nights in a row of it sticking, causing it to run full open for 8 hours, takes it's toll. It takes 2 minutes to change out. He's put in 2 new flush valve kits. I told him when he put in the second one, that wasn't his problem. He insulted me. I mentioned at the time that this was going to happen again. Again, he insulted me. He should not have insulted me. I posted on here that I would not help him until he began talking about replacing the whole toilet. Well, that time is now. When Dd gets back from class, we've got several places to go in town, so I will pick up the part, while we're out, and about. He's usually very good with mechanical things, car repairs, etc., and fantastic with electrical things. He's just not too good with plumbing type things, and it aggravates him.
But he shouldn't insult you.

Wait until he is gone and fix it!

It will save you extra cleaning time and maybe a water bill?(electricity if on a well)

Skipped out of work today (took half a day sick to go to dentist and half a day of leave - still have to work a little bit tonight from home, but that's worth a mid week day off). Dentist is a 103 mile round trip, plus an hour of shaking in the chair... it's exhausting.
Came home from the dentist, got the house cleaned up (a little, I'm definitely not winning any awards for cleanliness... 3 cats, an enormous drooling dog and 13 baby chicks in the house does not work for cleanliness) and then got the border sewn on my most recent quilt top. Goal is to get it all on the frame today and start quilting it Saturday, finish it up Sunday and bind it, to be gifted Monday. I hope. I think I'm on target to make this happen.
So glad I can finally show it. I am pretty proud of this one. The greens and brown were all leftover from other projects (in fact quite a few of them were in the quilt I made latestarter, which made me think of him as I was piecing it). I only had to buy the white background and the backing (goat island!!!).

That is going to be a nice Quilt!

I wish I could go to the Dentist. I broke off the inside of a tooth on Jan 5 th. It is a Primary tooth and the Dentist and Delta Dental(insurance carrier) can't figure out to get the tooth covered. It is my own fault for taking good care of that baby tooth I suppose. They are not supposed to last to age 59.

I had 4 of them and still have 3.

The saddest part to me is that the Dentist did not put a temporary crown on it. This is the first time that has happened when I needed a crown. I have 6 of them already
