The Old Folks Home

Thanks my husband got the mug for me for Christmas. Unfortunately I resemble it too closely also.

I spent the afternoon outside enjoying the first warm day of spring and since I had coop work to do I opened the gate to the small coop and told the old birds to go and be chickens. Doc their rooster didn't hesitate to lead them out into the yard. He kept them close to the gate but they spent two hours digging around in the grass and hanging out with me. Doc kept a watchful eye on them and my 410 shotty was close by.

I think it will become a habit for them. I also drug out the broody buster and put two hens in it. That leaves one hen on eggs and Betty who is the hen that stayed with her babies for 4 months last year . May give her two of TRex's eggs .Then if TRex isn't a good mom Betty can take over.

Unfortunately, too true. I woke up one morning to find that my husband had changed my computer wallpaper before I got up.

Thing was, I could hardly protest.......not as many in the picture but man I can really understand how it could happen, LOL.

Good luck with the hatch!
I almost ordered a crapload of quail eggs just so I could participate in the Ehal again this yr. I would like them sometime in the future. I just wasn't ready to hatch chicken eggs, only want to hatch from a trio of NN/JG'S. Haven't had a chance to segregate them yet.
