That is good news! I have read that gastric bypass changes the way the body reacts to sugar and etc. It is one reason that they do that procedure more readily with diabetics-- the requirements are lower

I didnt do the Gastric Bypass... I did the Gastric sleeve ... Or Sleeve Gastrectomy
the Bypass has better final results in that the weight loss is by percentage larger

..

The difference being that the Bypass Takes out a certain amount of the small Intestine from the digestive tract. This is where the fat soluble vitamins are absorbed. After the surgery you are required to take injections for those vitamins the rest of your life.

The Sleeve gastrectomy leaves the small intestine in place and gives you a bit larger stomach... Which looks like a sleeve in the picture. Digestion is in place and you can take regular vatamins....

In both cases vitamins are a permanent part of your diet because you simply cannot digest enough food to give you enough.

The other one that is mistaken for the Sleeve Gastrectomy is rapidly becoming obsoleted at my hospital because of Trouble with the device staying in place. Which is Lap Band Yes it can be removed but usuallly replaced with the Sleeve or Gastric Y

In my case I fit all the requirements... With some exceptions... outside of the requirement category....

Age
High risk
unable to walk much
heart issues... not heart disease just one that is toughened from too many years of high blood pressure...

I had to jump through quite a fewe hoops to get the doctor to agree to do this surgery...
He signed a disclousure on my isues.

Funny story on fire alarms. I had to take DD#4 7yrs old to a physical, I don't usually do such stuff mom does but she had to work. They after the exam ask a series of questions, do you ride a bike? Yes, do you where a helmet? (law here) yes ( none of my kids wear a helmet lol) do you have any guns in the house? Yes lots of them, where are they? ( I'm sweating now... thinking my deer rifle is by the back door in the kitchen next to a bb gun and pellet rifle by the kitchen fridge and there is a pump shotgun on the other side of our basement door...)
DD says dad keeps them in a locked safe. (Good girl, where does she get her brains? I do have a cheap gun safe and keep some in it)
Then Do you have fire alarms?
Yes, lots of them.
What do you do if one goes off?
She makes a hand waving motion...
Doctor says what do you do? What do you mean by that?
She says we wave it to get it to stop and yell mommy dinners done.
:lau:lol::gig

Smart kid!!!

I had the same panic with my kids.. so glad that they answered "correctly".

deb, how's your blood pressure? Oftentimes, along with diabetes medicines needing to be reduced, blood pressure medicine needs to be reduced too. I'm hoping this will help so much that both conditions disappear.
Pressure is good.... I am having a difficult time keeping my blood sugar up though.

Woke up last night came in to take some GasX... Got on line and felt that cold sweat begin.... Took my blood glucose... And I was at 4o... Took three trys with glucose tabs and finally got it back up.... Then i was awake....

Went back to bed after a couple of hourse and finally went to sleep... Ten am got up and took my morning Glucose test... And Bam I am at 53... I am not normally low in the morning.... took some Glucose tabs and took it again and I am up to normal....

I just need to eat food not sugar tablets....
