The Old Folks Home

deb, how's your blood pressure? Oftentimes, along with diabetes medicines needing to be reduced, blood pressure medicine needs to be reduced too. I'm hoping this will help so much that both conditions disappear.
Oh and the blood pressure meds will start to go but I have always had a lousy vascular system even when I was a young adult showing horses... So they may possibly stay in some form or other.

Daylight savings time, twice a year! It should save you from the 3 am chirping!

And if I could follow my own advice . . .
I know why they do that but it means a LOT of perfectly good batteries are going to the landfill. DSL starts in March, ends in November so 8 months. "Regular" time is only 4 months. New batteries last a lot longer than that. I had a detector go off for low battery and had a heck of a time finding it. Turns out there is one in the crawl space near the furnace. Batteries were at least 3 years old. Probably about to go off again since that would have been about 3 years ago. On the other hand, the one in the explosive gas detector plugged into the wall in the laundry room off the kitchen needs replacing at least twice a year. BTW, there is no requirement to have one of these in the crawl space next to the propane furnace where a leak would be much less likely detected by a human nose than in a living space.

I just need to eat food not sugar tablets....
Which is hard since you can't eat much at a time.

The chickens went outside today. I’ve been practicing calling them so going back inside can go a little more smoothly, but to no avail.

They stuck together, as usual, and explored the tall grass on the hill a bit. We keep milkweed growing in this area to encourage the Monarchs. A Monarch flew overhead and they freaked a bit and they all ducked down! Incoming!

Silly girls!

Here they are, eating ticks, we hope.

@perchie.girl. What are you allowed to have in the form of protein?

When I was working we would deal with hypoglycemia with a glass of orange juice sweetened and then follow up with a protein, like peanut butter or cheese sandwich to stabilize. Also for low AM blood sugars, try eating a protein snack before you go to bed.

Hang in there. This is going to be a challenge for you but you can do it! One step at a time and remember we are all here rooting for you!:yesss:

I am allowed string cheese....:sick but really its mozzorella so i buy the presliced in water .... Peanut butter, chicken and turkey if its moist and cooked till it falls apart.

I have done the Peanutbutter but cant have much bread or crackers.... so eat it off a spoon.

For what its worth Its a pretty much unrestricted diet... following wieght loss requirements... I pretty much follow Weight Watchers because thats what I am accustomed to.

Limitations for the surgery are still tough foods to digest like beef and pork.... And Acidic foods.... Lemon Vinegar pickles .... Hot foods Jalepenios and hot peppers. Though I can tolerate some of the chile powder type seasonings... I can eat chili if its cooked to death...

If I get into the spice I make sure to have a nutralizer on hand .... Milk Sour Cream....

Cant do pureeed fruit.... its a redlight food... except apple sauce...

I will try to follow up with some protien of some sort for sure...

This morning I woke up and took my Blood Sugar and it was 109 fasting this morning... Normally on Metformin It was at around 140.... :yesss: so need to get something to eat soon.

So off to Life I go....:wee
