The Old Folks Home

I am allowed string cheese....:sick but really its mozzorella so i buy the presliced in water .... Peanut butter, chicken and turkey if its moist and cooked till it falls apart.

I have done the Peanutbutter but cant have much bread or crackers.... so eat it off a spoon.

For what its worth Its a pretty much unrestricted diet... following wieght loss requirements... I pretty much follow Weight Watchers because thats what I am accustomed to.

Limitations for the surgery are still tough foods to digest like beef and pork.... And Acidic foods.... Lemon Vinegar pickles .... Hot foods Jalepenios and hot peppers. Though I can tolerate some of the chile powder type seasonings... I can eat chili if its cooked to death...

If I get into the spice I make sure to have a nutralizer on hand .... Milk Sour Cream....

Cant do pureeed fruit.... its a redlight food... except apple sauce...

I will try to follow up with some protien of some sort for sure...

This morning I woke up and took my Blood Sugar and it was 109 fasting this morning... Normally on Metformin It was at around 140.... :yesss: so need to get something to eat soon.

So off to Life I go....:wee

Last time I checked blood sugar in the morning it was 109 too! Nice number for you to have

I’ve been practicing calling them so going back inside can go a little more smoothly, but to no avail.
You need to bribe them! Scratch or BOSS. The first time I gave my initial 12 BOSS, they looked at it quite suspiciously. One girl came close, backed out. Came close again, backed out. Came close, pick one up, backed away and swallowed it. Came rushing in for more. And, chickens being chickens, the other 11 dashed in as well. Can't miss out on something!

If you can handle cottage cheese, Deb, that would work. As would just a slice of processed cheese or those gawdawful cheese sticks. I know. They are on my low purine diet and I hate them also although I do like cheese a lot. For some reason, my love of good German cheeses that my dad instilled in me can't relate to cheese being pressed into a stick with no flavor.

Just a bit of a confession. I love to spoon peanut butter out of the jar and chase it down with a spoon full of grape jelly. Like eating a PB&J sandwich without the bread. It was one of my go to treats/snacks when I was actively dieting and not maintaining.

I got my first Fayoumi egg this morning. It was pooped out under a roost bar but it was intact and perfect. They are the flakiest little birds I've ever encountered. But really pretty.....now if they would just learn to use the nesting boxes.

I like the good sharp cheeses almost like a parmesan that come out of ireland.... $$ so I dont partake often Love Munster and a good swiss with Sandwiches.... Oh and Cheddar with sliced apples or grapes.... Sigh but cheese doesnt like me...

I like Cottage Cheese and Watermelon or Mellon of just about any kind....

I had A Caprese Summer Strawberry salad for lunch Just a little bit of Basalmic Vinegar on it... along with olive oil... Did fine till I got home.... I took my BG and it was up to about 198... Not too bad... After the nap and some tums It was down to 99.... Hallelujah.... :wee.

Yes, I was using scratch but out of the coop/run everybody is confused. They know just what to do when I call "treat" and sprinkle some scratch in the run. Outdoors, some run toward, some run away, and Big Bird chases a moth.

:gig

We'll get there!

It sounds like your system is working correctly!

Muenster cheese :drool oh heck yes! And there is another German cheese called 'cup' cheese. A cousin back in Pennsylvania used to send us a big box of German yummies every Christmas. She's long dead now but I still miss that Yummy Box filled with everything from cheeses to Shoo Fly Pie. Pretzels, pickled tripe (I always pass on that one) Head Cheese (delicious if you don't think about what it is made out of) and sweet sausage!

The cup cheese has a really thick liquid texture. You spread it on crackers then plop a round of sweet sausage on it and enjoy. Dad and I would sit and pig out on those delicacies until we were stuffed.

I can find Muenster cheese, good quality cheese that is at the local Amish stores but I've yet to find the cup cheese or good hard pretzels.

Another bright and sunny day here. Temps in the upper 80s. We are still working on wood for this winter. For some reason we are working at a snail's pace this year. But we have enough downed wood to harvest that is ready to burn so we aren't too worried about having a shortage.

Can't believe it's almost August already.

Yeah, who took July? Wishing rain would come.
