Also, the fruit is best left for after you have gotten into Ketosis (burning stored carbs) but is a real sweet treat to have on a special occasion. Berries are the only fruit that is not full of too many natural sugars/carbs and can be eaten in small amounts. Once you are used to no sugar, berries taste like syrup! I love the Adkins diet because I can eat a big meal occasionally for the comfort factor and as long as I keep to protein, I'm not cheating! I can order Sirloin steak, broccoli, and side salad (no potato or roll) and I can chow down guilt free! Can't do that everyday, but occasionally, it won't hurt.
