The Old Folks Home

Wow, there are some real do it yourselfers here. And I know what you mean wolf. I have a hubby that does pretty much everything. I did so much years ago with the kids, and with a child with a birth defect, that now he is retired, I am more than happy to let him do a lot. Don't get me wrong or take me as a lazy pazy, :p I help with the coop if something needs to be done. Or, if he needs help with something that I can do to help..but he does do a lot for me.

Hey Arielle..check this out...got some pictures today.

Hey mom? When is this cold going away? My feet are cold!
When I knelt down to snap some pictures of her, I was talking to her, she curled up that foot,
and that's what she said to me,...pretty sure. :)

Isn't she purtty?

Just a picture of my..well was my..Lavender O. I put her up for sale today, and she sold
quick, for 15 dollars. 3 months old. There is my little Sweet Pea. A ham, a bantam faverolle,
very sweet..and my Welsummer pullet that is getting big!

Quote: ((hugs)) glad you went to visit him to get it out and over!! Never too late to learn though -- even if we can't retain everything. I couldnt retain everything when I was young either!! We had a bit of a snow the other day and I couldn't get the snow blower running. Well, actually, it ran for one minute and quit. THIS snow, DH took the time to show me and let me practice. AND I wrote notes. I'll never remember otherwise. Plowing with my truck was much easier than running a snow blower!! lol

Do not beat your self up about not knowing how to open these things. They are weird! Getting the top off of mine would have bee crazy to figure out without seeing the video.

The next thing to tackle for me is the ice grinder motor on my refrigerator. I love crushed ice....

Hey you guys, if you have a clear sky, go check out the moon, Jupiter is right there..they are saying that Jupiter is kissing the moon. It's close, we can see it pretty good!

I never hooked up my icemaker!! seemed like one more thing to break!! lol I use old fashioned ice cube containers. My kids don't know what to do other than stare at my BIL 's dispenser!! LOL

My ice maker literally cracked to pieces during the summer. I might have to look that up too. My dryer is ancient, but I really want to keep this one. Still haven't found a video that shows what I know is broken, so I can order the part, but I'm going to keep looking.

Linda it sounds like you need to make a separate bowl for your buddy next time. LOL I could just see the look on his face. I loved watching my birds when I took pics way back after they decided Makayla wasn't drinking that strawberry shake fast enough. Their eyes literally rolled and they even moaned. LOL

Regarding the house rooster - that's funny. He's been waiting to see if you offer him food!
I sometimes sit out in the coop and watch the nest boxes, so see who is laying. If it's cold I'll take a cup of tea. It almost always becomes undrinkable within a few minutes. They love to pull the tea bag out and some will dunk their heads in and drink. Gutsy little suckers.

A few summers ago my icemakers head rolled around 360 degrees and it became possessed by the evil spirit of icemakers and decided to flood my house. I came home from work to about an inch of water on the ground. That wasn't so bad. Except the rest had seeped through my wood floor into the basement. My wood floors are slightly warped in the kitchen because of it. Despite all that, I allowed the delivery people to set up the icemaker in the new machine. I'm still pretty scared of it, and I don't use ice. BF does, and so do guests, and it makes me really paranoid whenever I hear the water in it turn on.
