The Old Folks Home

My DH was so mad! When I put the momma in the back seat (she was still laboring) and the cold kittens inside my shirt, my hub said "I'm not driving all the way back up there." I said fine, we'll take them home......

Deformities like missing beaks are def not incubation related.

A pair of scissors and a paper towel is quick and painless for the chick. With the paper towel you do not have to see it either.

I'm glad you posted this..umm, the part about the deformities not being incubation related. I've had some silkies hatch without an eye, or a cross beak. Not in my LF. Interesting.

So, it looks like some got a lot of snow...but no power outage? That's the best part right there after a storm like that.

Arielle, sooo sorry about your horse. And someone lost a baby chick? :( And someone lost a pup? :( Sadness on our posts.

We need a happy post. I know SCG can come up with something. Even through and after a snowstorm..loved the pictures!

Kittens being born in the trunk of a car.. Oh man, I'll bet that hubby was upset. His white shirt? Cat still in labor on the way back? Who in this world could top a honeymoon story like that?! Thanks for sharing. Funny now..ey?

I teased DH all the way home about that being a sign from the fertility gods that we were going to have lots of children, might even have one on the way already.....three months later, I did have one on the way!

Rocks-- I collected all kinds from the sea shore. All uphill from there to my mothers house. THen I moved on to colecting cats, now my kids are collecting rocks. Found a good 8 pounder in my son's top drawer, lol , he had cleared out everything to ease the stress on the drawer. WHat could I say? THe apple doesn't fall far from the tree! I moved the rock to the floor so he could use the drawer again for his clothes.

WIsher-- I can see you life portrayed in a movie someday!!

Welcome to all the new faces!!

GEtting ready to set speckled sussex eggs!!!

My oldest DD collected rocks. When she was in Kindergarten, she would sleep with them instead of stuffed animals.

I do not want to think about what she collects now.....
