The Old Folks Home

SCG DH got a pair at Walmart that are all rubber. They are fairly inexpensive (between $7 - $8) and they haven't come off yet unless he is taking them off. You might want to check out your local Wallyworld to see if they carry them. They were down in the hunting/camping area. He thinks they are called "ice spikes" or something along those lines. They are kind of hard to find so you might want to ask an associate.

I don't think it's size that is causing a problem on my crampons.

Oh lord, you don't want to know my first thoughts on CRAMPons... Glad I read further.

I was on the back deck watching the flock get used to the snow when I heard the unmistakable sounds of baby chicks peeping from within the coop. Slipped on the icy snow getting there - good thing I landed on my butt, no twisting as I fell - so I was able to get up and go see the new flock members. Grace, a banty hen mix, has hatched four chicks in her bucket-on-the-wall nest box!

She let me see them. One is definitely a bantam chick, while the other three are LF mix chicks.

I think I may be tender later, when my butt thaws out.

Sisters in slip. Lets hope bruises are the worst thing that happens to us.

Thought so a coworker brought a goodie bag for the girls and it has chips in it just figured I'd check to be sure

I had an Australorp die from fatty liver disease, so I do not give mine stuff like that!

Too much fat simple carbs caused it in breeds that are prone to Fatty Liver Disease. She died from liver rupture.

DiDi - what happened with the Marylanders and the snow? I need a good story.
Overall, it was a disappointment. Wish I could give a better story than the snow "storm" kind of fizzled and they did not get to experience the fun of slip and slide driving over the pass. It did snow but not enough to really cover the roads. They did get a little nervous in the afternoon when they had to take the pass to go to our satellite site. DH reminded our VP that if she couldn't get there because of the snow, she would have to take vacation time (company policy).
