Looks like you've gotten pretty good at running for cover, too.

I couldn't understand why my water buckets were dirty all the time-- like a layer of silt covering the bottom!!! I have 6 ducks!!

I left BF for a bit here taking care of the animals back in the summer. He texted me that he couldn't figure out what was going on but that he was dumping and filling up the duck waterers every 30 minutes or so because it was a filthy mess (and half empty from them splashing it out) and when do they ever get tired of playing in it so he can leave them with (clean) water to drink? I guess my instructions shouldn't have been "give the ducks clean water every day."

"Honey, just change it once a day."

I'm waiting to see if someone on the Easter hatch thread has any idea how to stack in a Sportsman. I was going to set the 83 I had from last week and I still have hens in boxes right now, spitting them out. I've run out of incubators! I really need to buils another cabinet. Think I'm going to list some eggs on the 24 hr thread. Linda I wish you were closer, I'd get some black Copper and Blue Copper eggs to you for your girl to sit on.

Did Sewandgrow keep her incubators?

I know she was downsizing. Maybe you can toss some into her incubators or maybe she will let you borrow one of two of them.

I was going to call her later. I have A LOT! I didn't know she was downsizing!! I haven't seen her online lately, but did talk to her at the Stockton show. I'm guess I better give her a call today.

If my car was running good (gonna have to baby it until I get it a tune-up and some other work) I would drive to Modesto to visit, steal eggs or chicks... Err.. Buy eggs and/or chicks. :p

I sure hope at least one of Sparkle's five eggs hatches. I have no idea how she will do as a chick mama; i picked her up January 27th, she (re)started laying a few days later, and went broody after laying eight eggs which I took from her because she's a virgin hen. Well, none of my three roosters have even seen her, much less mounted her. Her former owners said she got picked on pretty badly by other hens in his flock and in another family's flock, so she'd been sequestered. I put five bantam flock eggs under her Feb. 16th.

The door onto the deck is open during the day for her to go out into the fenced garden for her daily constitutional. This morning, I was sitting here in the living room (posting on BYC) when Carl just sauntered in from the office/nursery. I guess, as Head Roo, he felt he had to come see what it was like in the Food Lady's coop. He looked around for a minute; even Dooley was too startled to bark at an unauthorized chicken in the house. (Dooley avoids chickens unless they come into HIS house.).

I followed Carl out to see how he'd gotten into the garden. Hmm. I guess chicken wire doesn't even keep chickens out! (Looks like something heavy-bodied pushed a gap into the fence material in one of the two gates. Hopefully it was just one of my own, two dogs.). I know chickens aren't stupid - plenty of 'em have seen me let Beth and Punkin out of the house each day and back into the garden and into the house each night.

Well Karen has both of her's loaned out for projects.

Linda I put up an auction, so let me see how that one goes, but we should meet up somewhere for at least coffee and I'll give you something to hatch out. I have lots of breeds laying right now.

Who was talking about not having a dishwasher? Well my washing machine broke down! I am one lucky lady that has a hubby that doesn't like the thought of not having clean clothes. Not like a dishwasher going out I guess, I could wash them in the sink, or tub. NOT. We got a new one today. Pretty nice. I don't like the new lock on the door. You can't open it all until you press a cancel button. Guess that's ok. I'll get used to it. So hard to make changes in my old set ways.
