The Old Folks Home

Sorry about your dad, I hope it is constipation. Stay put til after he has an operation. That is when you may be needed. Nothing worse than having the family hang around waiting then find out its something stupid...

The bummer is some of us here will soon be doing something like this soon, no matter what we all do, we get to the point in our lives when it's just time to go. Hopefully, we go quiet and peaceful.
One of the pitfalls of being in the OLD FOLKS HOME....

Oh lordy, why did I go there...
sheesh

But tick, I first came face-to-face with this reality when I was in, like, the second grade. You don't have to be "old folks" to know that nobody gets out of this alive, or that even tomorrow isn't guaranteed ("pray for me; I drive on Market Street"). The lucky ones get to be useful and active right up until they meet St. Peter - though that's always a shock to the ones left behind. It never hurts to try to brighten the lives of those we touch until then - and y'all often brighten mine.

Yep. For me it was my little sister when I was 5. Haunted me for decades. I lost my second son minutes after he was born. Large family and we've lost oh so many over the past like 15 years! Then 2006 another younger sister. First my mom, 9 days later my dad and over 52 days it even incuded my husband. I've been a wreck since. I'd never wish any of these on even my enemies. Geez it's no wonder I'm nuts!

Alright Folks! We are all mortal, no need to dwell on it, SCG's Dad will be fine, now lets move on...........Y'all are depressing me!

Okay, spring is in the air, what are we seeing in our yards? Here, the daffodils (Jonquils for us old folk) are blooming and the forsythia and quince. My weeping willow has small green leaves all over it and the maples are covered with bright red buds. Easter is just around the corner and I am so ready to plant my garden. What are you seeing or planning to grow this year?

The flowering quince is in bloom, my peach tree is budding, as are the new apricot and cherry planted last year, the Gravenstein apple tree is showing a few new buds, and the jonquils I planted very late have sprouted leaves - blooms will be up very soon!

I stopped at the Amador Flower Farm today and picked up a raspberry and an Olallie Blackberry vine. Just have to figure out protection from poultry before I transplant them.

I'll be back later to post some pictures of other stuff, like the great meal I had at a favorite restaurant before I stopped at the Flower Farrm, plus photos of the snow here last month, just a few things.

My dad is extubated but he has an ng tube in still because his bowels aren't moving again yet after the surgery. But that's okay. Thank you all for the support.
I took an 8 passenger Cessna out of Maine this morning to get here. Let me just say my dads doctors should prescribe a Cessna ride for constipation.
Gunna try to get a few hours of sleep.
