The Old Folks Home

Lots of folks around here call me Bunny - though I think you've seen what Sourland calls me.

Now that would be:

lady.

Except when she angers me. FROGS

accuweather extended forecast from now until the 24th it will be raining 18 days I think now would be an excellent time to plant flowers as I tend to forget to water them.

18 DAYS? Is that weather expected to move my way into GA? The Farmer's Almanac said yesterday, today, and tomorrow were the best time to set strawberries, and I almost drown planting mine. How am I going to get everything else planted without catching pneumonia?

I am wondering the same thing 7Biddies, I would like to plant a few squash and cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and a couple other things but is is cold again! Nothing will come up till it warms up! UGH!!!!!

Planting my tomatoes tomorrow. Thinking the freeze is over..but you never know. We just hit below freezing last week, but I'm crossing fingers that's it for now. If not, then we'll have to cover them. I really want to get some seeds in, especially some chard. :) Planting some herbs in pots, can bring those in.

I'm afraid we cheated. We started a bunch of things in 6" pots in the greenhouse, and put them out in the garden a couple of weeks ago. We've been eating cucumbers and leaf lettuce for weeks, and will be getting tomatoes and peppers soon.

That is great Bunnylady! I usually have a bunch started by now also, but I have been sick more than I have not since Jan. I am hoping to catch up.... lol I am only going to plant a few things in a raised bed my DH is making for me. Hopefully he will be done with it tomorrow. :) I have a few things that came back from last year and planted a few herbs in some pots. I hope everyone's gardens produce all they want or need!

Bunny good for you! I would love to have a green house. We've actually talked about building one.

Chick, no fun being ill so much through the winter. We had so many sick folks out here in Utah. I guess it was a bad flu season for everyone. I can't believe I stayed well with my poor immune system. Knocking on wood right now!

Cynthia, it is great that you stayed well! Yes it was a very bad flu season. Several ppl I know had it go thru their families several times over and over! I got it twice but my immune system is down so low from fighting an infection that I get any and everything that blows thru.

I don't have a greenhouse, would love to have one. But my dining room and den get alot of sunshine so they make a great place to start most anything I was to grow in the house. I just put flats or pots full of soil all over my dining room table and start my seeds in here then move them outside. It has worked very well for me

Our late frosts also took it's toll on our fruit trees! I had them wrapped for a week every night! But no fruit on the trees!

I hate that because I have spent alot of time trying to make sure I would have plenty!

Oh well hopefully this fall I will get some nuts from our other trees at least!

Well chickadoodles if you don't get any in your area this fall just come to Iowa!
The weather is apparently trying to drive everyone here nuts so there shouldn't be a shortage!

On Sunday April 28 it was 78 and sunny.
Then we get 12 inches of snow on May 3 and.....
today it is supposed to be 74 and partly cloudy. Why can't it be partly sunny?
