The Old Folks Home

I know... now.

It's been a really long week.

Sorry, y'all.

It looks like everything is complete. Got a goat friend on loan for Caramel last night (she did not like her new friend).

Her name is Pipsqueak but after what I heard from her in the car for an hour on the way home, Pipscream is more like it. Amazingly the migraine that I'd had for 36+ hours went away after I got home from The Horrid Ride Home With a Screaming Nubian Goat. I guess it wasn't up to the challenge of being more obnoxious than a goat.
Goat math????

Yeah I'd have it too. She's very pretty though!

SCG, I wouldn't be too worried about the fact that your LaMancha didn't seem to take to her new "friend." Goats have pecking orders too. I have to admit, I can't decide which I like better, the crazy no-eared look, or those long, droopy, Nubian ears!

Who's goat is this smart? Pretty cute.

Yes, Ron..some watermelon, and maybe some frozen grapes. I hear that the chickens really like the frozen water bottles left around the yard to lay up against when it's that hot..and some in their nest boxes, I do that, frozen water bottles in the nest boxes, they love it. Good grief! That's hot, and I thought our 90's was warm enough now. I hope we don't get up there this year.

I think the gray long eared goat in the pic is Pipsqueak (Pipscream) who Caramel (the no-eared goat with the beautiful eyes and nice teeth and who some think looks like a camel) doesn't like although she was supposed to be the new companion. Did I get it right, SCG?

Are you stalking me on facebook?

I don't FB, but maybe I should start. ;)

Goats are way TOO smart, in my estimation. My wife's goat learned that the young chickens got "special" food once a day--so she joined in the melee to eat with them. She never butted or pushed them around; on the contrary she was gentle and patient. I did see her grab a few by the tail and move them out of her feeding lane, however. She was banished to a ranch in East El Paso County AFTER she learned how to bounce up in to and out of one of my Globe Willows, over the fence, and in to my neighbor's backyard. Not a good thing as Marcello loves his trees as much as I love my poultry and livestock. So . . . that was that.

And THAT is why I don't have goats!!
