OMG there are rats everywhere.

I got a few shots off but not sure I hit anything. Had the red light out and their eyes were glowing in it. I need a flamethrower.

what are you shooting at them with? If a .22 get some birdshot bullets for them. Up's your chances in the dark. And won't go as far. Or get yourself a .410 shotgun

I have a .410 (among other things - we are well armed here) but it's too close to the goat shed and my neighbors house for me to feel comfy doing it. BF was shooting with a .22 today, and we're going to go out tomorrow and get the pellets for it. I was shooting with a one shot air rifle. Not powerful enough even with 10 pumps. And too slow to reload.

You definitely need a jack russell!! 10 rats? Peice of cake!! Put water hose in one hole and plug all but one and up they come!

I had to take it down with the .22... the thing laughed at my air rifle pellets.

It's huge. I know it doesn't look huge, but it's in the large Have A Heart trap.

While I was dispatching it another one ran across the driveway as if to mock me... but I still got ONE.

And BF slept through the whole thing. Even the .22 going off. Right outside the bedroom window.

Anyone ever try 22 rat shot?

It gets mixed reviews online. Last night I was out with the pellet gun and a red flashlight. Was able to see the rats and the sights but couldn't take them down with the pellet gun. Thought I was just missing last night, but after dear rat this morning, I realize it's just not powerful enough to take these exceptionally large critters down.
