The Old Folks Home

Me too wolftracks, I know how you feel. I had to put one of my holland lop juniors down this week and I have been so sad. It is hard to lose a pet. Rabbits are so sensitive. I hope you feel better soon!
Sincerely, BunnyMomma
Awww BunnyMomma, I am so sorry for your loss!

I've had to climb in windows a couple of times when I locked myself out (fortunately, the windows weren't locked!) I also got stuck in my laundry room one time when the cheap doorknob came apart in my hand. Good thing for me that my then-preschooler daughter was home. I had her fetch me a small hammer and a screwdriver from a drawer in the kitchen, and used them to pull the pins out of the hinges. She got a big kick out of "rescuing" Mommy!

Wolf..you had a wonderful day didn't you?! I hope you got some rest last night! A cool home I hope..you guys are pretty warm out there too. We will hit 104 today, and if I locked myself outside, I would be knocking on a neighbors door to wait until someone could come..I don't do heat! What a story. Glad you finally got in. Sounds like those kids care and worry about you, when they are awake.

Stupid power outage did a job on my well pump. I have no water. I am shlepping pond water in buckets around for the flock.

The Well guy has some jobs to do today but will be here in the late afternoon. He is hoping the problem is just a fuse at the pump. My contractor friend John came by to see if it was something HE could do, but he always farms out pump issues because that is not his area of expertise. If it had been a fuse he could find, he would have removed it to go buy another for me, but even with the written instructions inside the metal case ("Yeah, that's Greek, all right") he wasn't willing to fiddle with it. He brought me a big ol' 64 ounce jug o' ice water.

He thoughtfully sprayed the black widow and her nest inside the pump box and inside the metal case of electronics, then duct-taped over the hole she used to get inside the metal case. Afterwards, he just enjoyed watching the flock for a few minutes before he went on his way... With a dozen eggs.

He last saw the goslings four weeks ago; today at six weeks, they amazed him with their growth. Kevin the Free peacock was in the coop; John said "that peacock isn't stupid."

I will be spending the day inside with my little window A/C unit keeping me from dying.

I hope the pump problem is the fuse--that is what fuses are for.

This morning the temp outside was the same as the house, so no whole house fan.

Up until this week, my place in the Phils relied on a pump and a tank. We just had municipal water arrive. Its all rather exciting.

I hope you get your water issues sorted fast. Bathing in duck pong (intentional typo) water is a bummer.
