The Old Folks Home

Yesterday I went and bought some Roosters and a few birds. One of these roosters is half again as large as all the other roosters. I have no idea what he is. Can anyone help and tell me what he might be or mixed with? Please?

This is him on the right I was trying to get the two of them in a shot to show how much larger hs is. But it did not work out that way.

This is him in another shot. I would appreciate it if anyone would give me some estimates or guesses even. Thanks!

My guess is he is mixed with a Game. He is very wide!

I don't have any idea what he is but his chest feathers remind me of my banty hen:

And despite the fact that the fair was flooded and closed, they were still taking down the exhibits and I went and picked up my jam:

I have to admit my strawberry jam didn't win anything, but

Congratulations!

It is nice to get a blue ribbon.

Does he have slate legs? He almost looks like he could have Penedesencas in him. No white earlobes though. Check out this photo of these two boys..the one on the right looks a lot like yours..both Penedesencas. I just sold a chick that I hatched..the color on yours would be Partridge. :) Thinking a mix..my two cents..could be this breed. :)

See the white earlobes? The hens lay the most beautiful chocolate colored eggs!

Penedesencas are wee little large Fowl. Even the Black Penes that are listed as Dual Purpose are not very large. The Crele that I have even crows at a high pitch....

The Mystery Rooster looks like a Partridge is in the mix somewhere.

Cynthia, He does have slate legs! In the pic on the top you can see his legs he is on the far right.
I think you may have it! He does look alot like your beautiful birds! Thank you!
I am going to keep him and try to figure out what kind of hen to breed him to so that I can get some very large birds off of him! I have some customers that come buy just to buy my Roosters and the larger the better. What kind of hen do you think could make me extra large birds if I mate them together?
