Chicka, I guess only us Alabama belles thought that was funny..... maybe everyone else thought I really said it that way and were being polite!![]()
That comment has a recent history with me. Last weekend, our youngest son was running in a cross country meet and we decided to take our dog, Paisley. She is about 12 pounds of energy and attitude and has only had her "big brother" (a 90 lb black lab that lets her dominate him because he is just happy to have a girl dog on the place!) Her idea of playing with him is ricocheting off his head while snarling and growling like she really could whoop his butt! He is gentle and patient and tolerant of her, no matter how irritating she makes herself.
Anyway, we came across a couple walking their two dogs. One was a 165lb Great Dane and the other was a 185 English Mastiff. Paisley was straining at the leash to go visit them and I guess I was looking concerned, because the couple immediately began assuring me that the dogs were well socialized to people and pets and were completely under control. I was just about to explain that she would likely have very bad manners due to her "brother" spoiling her when she crawled her way up under the chest of the Great Dane. That dog bent it's neck so that it could smell Paisley and immediately covered her head with a long, pendulous, strand of foamy slobber. The couple were horrified and began to apologize profusely. Our little dog looked at me as if waiting to see if this was okay and I said, "OH Look, Paisley, you got your hair did!!" The couple, who seemed well educated and to have impeccable manners, froze for an instant, and looked at me. I smiled slightly and the lady burst out laughing. Her husband was not as sure but he ended up laughing out loud as well. I started to ask what was so funny, but decided not to be mean. I assured them is was fine, chuckled, and wiped her head off on my shirt.
Hey Wisher1000, heard anything from Wisher2000 lately??
Has the name changed and I just missed it? Thinking it was a friend of your's just coming online with BYC from what I remember. It's been a while, been meaning to ask you.
Chirp
Good, glad he's settled in.Yes, I helped him get his name changed to Mr Chickenmath and he is off to the treads with the other youngsters, I guess. I haven't heard from him in a while. I have never met him and didn't know him when he first came on to BYC. I knew a man that knew his dad and he was telling me about how this young man had really gotten into raising chickens and I recommended this group. I wrote down the web address and my user name and a note to "go ahead and join" instead of signing on as a guest. Evidently, he tried to sign up as Wisher1000, which wouldn't work, so he changed it to Wisher2000.

He would PM me from time to time, but it's been a while. He seems like a sweet kid........
How frustrating that printer must be!I am SO frustrated with my printer of late! It will happily scan, copy, and fax, but NOT print anything from my computer! First, it started jamming, but I managed to solve that issue.
It's time for me to request a distribution from my inherited IRA to pay for the property, but I cannot print the freakin' form to sign and fax it to my financial advisor. I have tried for four days... Now I have to have the form MAILED to me. Then I can sign and fax it back, but I wanted to close before the 30th day. Still got time, but I wanted it DONE as soon as I had the closing costs detailed. Kinda didn't want to skimp too close to "just" the sale price, y'now? Build a coop, set up a large, secure run....get a gate.
Today I completed all the purchase & disclosure paperwork at the Title Company; all I will now need to do is drop off the cashier's check when the money gets transferred to my account. Escrow will close 24 hours later.
Stopped at KFC on my way home and tried one of those "famous bowl" meals. Mashed potatoes covered with gravy, whole kernel corn, topped with chicken bits and cheese, all in one bowl. They may sound icky to some folks, but I really enjoyed it as a guilty pleasure. Total comfort food type thing. Probably gonna have it once a year. Or maybe every couple of months.
