THis blog has a number of recipes worth having a second look at!! Yummy!!

I bought the heavy cream and the half and half, then the cream got left out and curdled and well . . . gave it to the chickens. Eggs are spearated though: used the whites to make granola and have the yolks for icecream! Never too cold for ice cream!!

SCG-- frozen semen is easy. It like folowing a science experiement. Specific temps, special tools like forceps and thermometers and warm water baths-- or at least that is what it is like for horses. Mykids were looking in microscopes at horse semen as toddlers. I"m sure they don't remember oohing and ahhing at the tadpoles!!

Much easier than dealing with a randy rank male!!

I went to the chickens in the road summer retreat - that's where I learned to make cheese and soap. She's fabulous and I love most of her recipes.

I've read a bit about AI, seems like the most complicated thing would be to have the cold temps - it's not that cold in Maine so I'll have to either purchase a tank or find someone who has one.

Linda, the worst thing about taking the goat to her boyfriend wasn't the drive. My BF was feeding her cookies at spaced intervals, and she was fine until we stopped at a light and then she started screaming at the other cars (until she got a cookie again). The worst part was driving up to the house (which was scary) and then finding the buck was not interested in her (he was out of rut) but the neutered wether was totally interested in her, and all she wanted was another cookie. We could have made a sitcom out of it.

ok folks my goat is Charolott a Nigerian dwarf milking machine, for her size it is amazing how much milk she gives. I hoping to acquire another doe and a buck. We'll see. I keep getting into the advertising here on the right. How do I get it to go away?? It's chore time.

i have the other half!!!

Stewie is going to be goat curry in November

I've never had goat but I'm tempted to eat Amos once I get him back (exchanged for Pippy and once Caramel has a baby). I don't need his loud, whiny neutered butt. I'd love to keep Pippy but that's not in the plans.

Do you butcher them yourself or take them somewhere? Have you done AI before?
