The Old Folks Home

Hey folks,
While waiting on the pics from Linda, I thought I'd send a few from our AK trip. Also including a couple aerial photos of that beautiful red rock country. Don't want to bog the page, so if you want to see a few more pics, please visit our profile page. Thanks a bunch.

Oh, I wanted to send another one taken in Anchorage, AK. This particular mountain range is called, The Sleeping Lady. AK weather is very foggy/misty at times...She actually appears as the clouds/haze rises. The photo isn't great, but loved the story. She is said to "lie in wait" for her warrior lover to return. The day before, DH and I took a horse and buggy ride through downtown at sunset...She was literally lit up in the most beautiful sunset colors and form....but I didn't even have the cell phone with me! Sigh. DH said it was meant to be just a special moment for us. Would have given anything though to snap her.
(It's hard to tell, but starting at the left is her head, then chest area with arms folded low across the waist/hips (center), then towards the right her legs/knees etc.)

Maybe some of our AK folks can supply with a better picture and more accurate story line on her?

Just love old folk lore. What a lovely story and photo.

Hello again. Ok, I just wanted to show you one more thing and then I'll stop.
Please look in the upper right corner of the board. It's the state of AK superimposed (?) over the USA.
It's a really big state!
