Oh Yes! You have come to the right place!

Maybe I should start a Diary Thread like Ozexpat.

When I started mine, I had no idea how big it would become. I would have never imagined the over 180,000 views up til now.

You should start one Ron.

Here is another diary with a great story and some real lows and highs. Ben is a great guy (an another Aussie)

OK, so I am just beside myself.....

Not sure if you guys remember but Jackie O got poked in the eye two weeks ago and can't see out of it anymore. She has adapted to walking with her head turned and I have her with some smaller chicks for company and I'll re introduce her back to the flock with them all in a large group.

She is 12-14 weeks old....I lost count.

Notice how I keep saying she????

SHE crowed today!!!! Does she look like a he? it was a weird cackle try to crow...I'm hoping she is really a she and was just confused. What does she look like to you guys? She's a Black Orp.

Gotta go with boy if he crowed!

Orpingtons should have no comb or wattles at 12 to 14 weeks old and no pink to it. They stay little and kind of white to amber until the get close to Point of Lay, which is around 25 weeks even for hatchery ones. That little stubby tail is another indication of maleness and I think I see some saddle feathers coming in.

Are you going to rehome him?

He will probably stay with me b/c of his eye. I planned to butcher a few of the other cockerels when they get a little bigger but a big nice Black Orp, I'll keep him unless the right home comes along and I know he'll be taken care of.

are you wanting him?
