My grandpa was also WWII and my sister was Navy.
Crazy but true - my father was a Chaplain in the Army. As a non-combatant, he could get someone else to take the marksmanship test for him, and he did. The guy did so well, he qualified for the marksmanship medal.The picture I have of me like that shows sweat pouring down my face. We just got back from a long run with full packs, they put us in one of our dress uniforms and snapped away. It was early September in MO. Those are usually basic training photos.
