Thanks for thinking of me though Bama I appreciate it.
She's right! If you take gluten out of your diet, or at least restrict it (which lots of carbs have gluten, breads and such), it will greatly help with your RA! The gluten attacks our joints and inflames them. Reducing or eliminating gluten would help everyone with arthritis. Something else that would help you is to add an all natural gelatin to your diet. I have one knuckle that would sometimes give me trouble (after I so gracefully smashed it a hammer while gardening) and it really helped! I put a tablespoon in my coffee, just adding a little more sweetener covered the taste, or you can make some fun homemade gummy candy! (It's for my arthritis, I SWEAR! ;-) If you think about it, we're really not getting enough gelatin in our diets anymore. Back in the day, people would make bone broth and knaw on bones, even eat the marrow! I found both porcine and bovine gelatin on Amazon. I hope you find some respite from the pain!
Thanks Dragonfly! I will have to order some and try it. I know I use a ham bone with lots of meat on it to flavor my peas or beans but don't eat them enough.
