The Old Folks Home

I will bake some bread this weekend too. I will need to get it done early in the day though--going up to the mid to upper 90s this weekend.

And I will bake all day to warm up the place.
It's 8C.... Brrrrrr :(

First thing to do when buying a gore tex garment, is to stand in the shower for 15 minutes with it. If it leaks, go to the store, tell you did that and tell them you ant a new one. With shoes or gloves, submerge them in water. Gore gives a nice guarantee on their products, and if they can't withstand that, they are faulty. I bought a pair of Gore combat boots a couple months ago, just last weekend I spent 4 hours walking through swamps with them - my socks were completely dry afterwards, even walking through water they were breathable enough to transfer moisture generated by my body out.

Sounds like great stuff, I need new boots. Gortex would have been handy when I tree planted.... I don't want to get wet, but I really don't want to drag the boys out in it. Haha sounds like a job for a baby sitter :)

I just saw 1 of my neighbors in walmart. He had his dog with him. Apparently he bought a harness thingy for handicapped working dog. He had on dark glasses. He was in sporting goods section looking at fishing hooks...

Lots of people dry the fireweed for winter chicken feed. You have fireweed, right?
:lau :gig

I use a boiled wool jacket, and a good wool hat. Lots of the water rolls off, the water that soaks in doesn't make you cold because of the wool, and it breathes.

Yep we have fireweed,lots... Thanks for the idea ( duh on my part )
I wore wool planting.... Loved it. Always warm in the rain but never soaked.... Actually Vehve, come to think of it I did wear goretex planting.... I think my gators are goretex, it's some tough suff.
