The Old Folks Home

I have shipped edibles to Canada once though. My sister spent half a year as an exchange student at Univ. of Saskatoon. I put together a care package for her consisting mostly of liquorice and salmiakki, a local candy. When I got to the post office, I handed the package to the guy at the counter, he looked at it and asked me if I'm sure I want to send this like this, it is after all going to the other side of the world. Somehow he thought that the super cheap envelope I had packed it in was a bit flimsy. Well, I went home, dug out my food vacuum packer, and packed the stuff in a double sealed vacuum package, and went back to the post office. Apparently he had never seen a package as well packaged as that. And it made it to my sister safely too.
