The Old Folks Home

Beautiful DiDi...are you really that close to that Elk? Or, does your camera get up close for you?!

My DH just got over a bout of Gout a couple of months ago..painful! He was told sweet anything in drinks/juices..so he slowed down on the fruit juices. Loves them.
He should have some dairy each day, like cottage cheese and hard cheese for snacks. a glass or two of milk also. Stay away from shell fish and sardines.

Also, he needs to have his uric acid levels monitored. Permanent joint damage can happen from the crystals even without Gout symptoms.

Gout runs in my family--my Father and two brothers have it.

@peep_show

Britain has pretty strong regulations regarding horse meat.

There was a scandal in 2010 where two slaughter houses were "blending" horse meat into beef for export to Europe.

Did you know for sure you were eating horse meat or was it just a feeling?

Australia got into trouble when burger king USA found roo meat in their burgers back before it was trendy to eat kangaroos.

This was 25+ some odd years ago. I can tell you it wasn't all beef and certainly not a meat flavor I had every encountered before (and I've eaten an assortment). Can I say it was more than a feeling? There was nowhere on the menu it said "horse" and I didn't think to query the establishment. It wasn't a recognized burger chain.

Bugs? Bats? Why would I want to scare you with photos of those on a Monday morning? Geez, it's not even April 1st! Must've been a rough Sunday for y'all or cabin fever has set in.

Thank you, it's rare he has a flair up but if it becomes more regular we will see about testing ( not a lot if medical options here and you always have to push hard to get test done :idunno) isn't it a form of rheumatoid arthritis?

  I understand, though, that cherry juice is good for gout.

Black cherry juice which of course he hates, also stinging nettle tea is supposed to help reduce the build up of acids.

I built this today
400

@LindaB220Looks like it will work for fermented feed. Think I'll need some holes in the lid so gas doesn't build up and cause the food to over flow. Posted it here until I get the kinks worked out if any.
