The Old Folks Home

Where is SCG when I need her?

I came home from work yesterday and as I was getting out of the car, I noticed that I was just a little bit dizzy. I have a hole in my right eardrum and the eustation tube on that side doesn't work. I know that when I start having trouble in that ear, it can turn into severe vertigo so I am careful. The problem is, the drug I take, Meclizine, makes me drowsy and I hate that feeling (but less than I hate the room spinning and dipping about so that I have to hang on to the corners of the bed!) I took one at bedtime last night, and managed to sleep through the night, but this morning the dizziness was about the same as the evening before and getting worse. I gave in and took the second Meclizine (dosage is one or two in a twenty-four hour period) about 10:00 this morning. I just woke up about an hour ago. Slept like a baby all day and evening. Now, I will be up all night, and I have a 4H chicken show to attend and help with tomorrow.

Oh man, I can relate to that dizziness! I have called it, Woozy head for years! I never knew, neither did the drs. until this very year what was causing it, they just suggested Meclizine. I'm with you, don't like it! I have to lay straight up in a chair..head straight...to try and keep things equalized. They have test now days, that can find out so many different problems with the inner ear. No, I don't have Minears Disease. But, I have a significant .. less.. amount of fluid in my left ear. They gave me exercises to do, but that didn't do a thing. They call it therapy. :/ They said being dizzy will come and go. I know that! I just had to find what works for me. It's gotten worse for me as I've gotten older. I'm glad I'm not working now. Or, I could say, wish that I could work, but my health just won't let me at this point. I loved working~!

It rained last night, so with the overcast low cloud cover this morning the balloons were flying low on one of their last days of the Fiesta. It's a nice sight to sip coffee to. Oh, yeah. Dawn in the Land of Enchantment.

The Cow is always a favorite, I think her name is Arabella - my brother has gone to the balloon festival about 10 or 12 times (lives in Illinois) my sister and niece live out there. They all got tired of the crowds, etc. so sat out the last couple.
