SCG and DiDi have been out on a trip to the Grand Canyon here. Wonder if the are back yet.


Hey ron, guess what I bought? Not sure if you remember me talking about not being able to use my hands in kneading bread, and was looking for a nice bread machine. Found one! It didn't come cheap, I wanted a good one, and, I like that it will be a normal looking loaf of bread, not that funny stand up pan...but it has two paddles in it side by side. At this very moment, it is rising. I soo hope it turns out, and tastes good. Guess I'll see. It has a lot of recipes for other kinds of breads too...plus jams, plus cakes. I'm pretty excited. I miss my baking days. When I had all of those kids home, I baked almost every day..something..and I was cooking all of the time too. Now it's just my husband and myself, until next week when my son comes home from his mission in GA. I will probably be making bigger portions of what ever it is I make, because I know that a 21 yr. old can eat!

hennible.... I saw your "explain your avatar" thread. I don't want to alarm you, but I couldn't help but notice the person in your avatar may have been bitten by a werecat.  He seems to have an excessive amount of hair around his cat like eyes.   You might want to be careful around him during full moons.

This machine will do sour dough too. I hope it tastes at least...close to home made.

Edit to say...man I wish I could taste ron's baking and cooking!

Well we've been busy, we got 6 muscovy ducks 3 are headed to freezer camp in a month. My bf was thinking of TRYING to caponize one, until he went to pick it up and it ripped him up really good.

I remember buying smokes when they were $1.75 a pack in the vending machine lol, but I quit smoking in 03. Except for medical cannabis, I smoke that all the time.

This weekend we go buy a new deep freezer. And stuff to help with processing chickens, ducks and bunnies. In 10 days we breed my bunny Grace. I want rabbit braised in duck fat.

I want the white muscovy ducks too, but I have black and gray ones. We're thinking of adding maybe a couple jumbo peking in the spring in case the muscovies don't give me enough duck fat for my foodie desires.

My bf of almost 9 years lets me pretty much do whatever I want, and has resigned himself to making me things and the never ending to do list. I have 19 chicks in brooder boxes in the barn needing a coop and run sooner than later.

He fell in love with me on our 3rd date when I made him Korean bulgolgi beef in high heels, he's a big foodie too, which is the only reason he has let me begin farming on our .5 acre property in the city. The ordinance says nothing about limit to livestock/poultry as long as it's not a nuisance.

We're learning to caponize this weekend, the equipment came in today. No more crowing after this weekend I hope.

I made 2 grass fed roasts today and coconut cookies in the oven. But it seems my phone doesn't want me to upload any pictures atm.

Someone else was having issues with uploading via phone. Did you check out the home page to see if they have any issues listed?

can the pictures be compressed or made a smaller size on the phone? It is likely a size limitation.

Just a service issue for me mostly... I get 2 bars on a good day in my house. No I can't compress them on the phone. I just try until it works... 3rd times the charm.
