I had my DD in Austin buy me some at Whole Foods to get a good brand. So I had 3 jars 16 oz ea and still have 1/4 of the second jar left. Aimee said she needed the other jar for infections for her dog grooming shop and TOOK it. But, fear not. I just found out yesterday that Shreveport just broke ground on a new Whole Foods. Insanely thrilled. We have a Sam's but just not the same.. I even like Costco better too. And we don't have them in La. Soooooo DD moved this weekend to Vancouver Wa from Austin. I thought it would be Portland but they like it a lot.and SIL's relatives are close. She got the job (RN) up there so easily and the move has gone so well, I'm afraid to jinx it. Jack drove up with them and flew back to complete his notice and sell the house. I haven't checked it but it's on the MultiList at 520 New Country Rd, Kyle, Tx 78640. A nice house that sells very well I hear. I hope, I should say. The real estate agent said that style was selling in about 3 wks.

I use coconut oil for my skin, hair and chickens combs and wattles lol I have a big deep fryer, I love it! I make a lot of fried chicken, Korean style, very very crispy and gluten free.. twice fried makes it so crispy and using rice flour and corn starch instead of regular flour.

I made coconut cookies and chocolate pudding, it's my bf bday today. Well, I'm taking him out for dinner. Yeah... gross story time is needed, my jeans are all getting way too tight and all the eating holidays haven't even begun yet.

Delurking to comment on some older posts:

Not all cat owners are irresponsible. I have two cats, both indoor cats but who have an outside, totally enclosed run which is both safe for them and the local wildlife. While many break the laws, we are only allowed two cats and they must be registered with the local Council.

PS. They have leashes and walk not drag

With regards weeds. My gals keep the weeds under control. In the areas they do not have access to, front path and driveway etc, I use a mixture of vinegar, salt and dishwashing detergent. Kills them dead!

Vinegar alone will also work.

Bama, what is a trot line? Do you mean something like a trap line - with several traps? Or maybe a missile launching system.? I'm not 'up' on what menfolk do about predators, I imagine womenfolk screech and brandish brooms at them. I'm probably wrong on all counts. Enlighten me.

Well, I've totally forgotten who gave the suggestion but I'm sitting down to toast and 3 small perfectly poached eggs. You're right, it is perfect. The rest of the gang ordered in pizza. I'm tired of pizza.

that was me. I love them. Eggs are so marvelous, especially with a bit of garlic.

Dude!!! I complain all winter long, grumpy whiner, that is me...the whining will get even worse as it gets colder and snowier. Just wait.

I man up and plow all winter long, but I still complain about it. At least the plow truck now has a functioning defogger for the windshield. The winter it had no defogger was a hoot! I had to get the cab up to bake temperature before I could keep the windows clear enough to see, or plow with my head out the window, which is a problem if the snow is powder. (when you plow it, it pops up into a cloud and hits the windshield of the cab...and your face that is sticking out the window.)

We are supposed to hit 40 on Wednesday.....so...... maybe... I keep remembering the winter I had to pull kids through two foot tall snow drifts for Halloween.

Alaskan, I'm guessing you have fairly severe (horrible) winters don'cha?

it is just that they are so long...... and I think I am still a bit twitchy and PTSD from our 1 inch shy of record breaking all time snow fall winter. That winter the kids were shoveling at least two hours almost every single day, and I was plowing about 3 hours almost every day...I often had to plow twice a day, sometimes three times a day..........and then there were the days where we were shoveling for more than 4 hours, in one day.

Totally still twitchy....and I think that was 2 winters back....

We are frozen and cold now...and will not see green grass until June. Some guy told me once

"I live in Homer,
9 months of winter
2 months of fall
1 month of springtime
and no summer at all!"

yep, yep, yep.

As to cold...depends. It is kinda interesting actually.... if we have cloud cover, then we can stay in the 20s. But if it is clear sky then the temps can truly plummet. We never get super cold though.
