The Old Folks Home

I'm upset about how much the skin tore on the duck we did yesterday. I covet duck fat. I love crispy chicken skin. I make medicated candied bacon with ghost peppers and garlic that are yummy, I wanted to try my hand at making duck and chicken bacon. No wonder my "fat" jeans are so tightly fitting.

Duck prosciutto looks tasty...

Amber, the flower box looks good, but if you let your chickens out of the run they will eat everything in it. And dogs will be interested in it after the chickens have pooped there. So if you want to grow herbs by the coop in a similar way, I'd place a planter box maybe 3 feet in the air outside the run. That way it's a little more protected from the birds and other critters.

How? I watched a video of some Inuit guys doing it (after the initial belly slice) with just their hands...
we chop off the hooves with a hatchet. Make a cut 360 around the neck. Stuff a golf ball between skin and meat about 5inches below 180 cut. Tie a rope around the spot where the bottom of the golfball is on the hide. Hook that rope to 4wheeler or truck. Tie a rope from deer head to a tree. It will skin like a catfish
