Yep lost my manuscript on it too. I couldnt even get it recoverd through a service..... Therefore now that i have almost 80,000 words written It resides on that portable USB hard drive. Now I am told those go south eventually so My next step is to buy a SSD portable... just a regular drive put in a transportable case.... They are usually used for back up.... in this case it will be for safeguard.

I was working on a 20+ page term paper on an XP with two 5 1/4 floppies and no hard drive. Just putting the finishing touches on it a couple days before it was due when I had to run to the store with my two infants. I didn't back up and we had a power outage while I was gone.
I didn't sleep for the next 2 days.

If I were into that much Incubation I would probably invest on a cabinet incubator.... they start at around 600 new but they can occasionally be bought used. some have a bottom tray that is stationary for hatching. just put in a plastic tray inside that and you can keep everything very clean.

Is anyone familiar with this incubator/hatcher from China?

I have a homemade cabinet incubator/hatcher combination but they have completely separate air/heat/humidity systems.

OH my goodness.... MY first computer was an 8088 with two 5 1/4 floppies. I had an amber screen.... and was writing on my book back then. Waaaaayyyy before WYSIWIG.... That book has made it through Multiple generations of computers over the years till I lost it on the Laptop. Of course I had the older version.... and the version that was on paper....

But I was good with Autoexecs and tweaking the best out of what I had... even installed my first hard drive... a Whopping 20 meg.... Woo hoo. and it was used so it had some great sofware on it... Like Xtree.

But when Windows became the standard I stopped trying to work with DOS at all. and I stopped trying to keep up with the latest technology.... so I am just a user....

I would love to see your diy incubator if possible? I am working on doing one for the hatch along..

wow 60 bucks for that incubator nice price would like to know what reviews are for that one as well. there are so many different incubators and everything it is very very overwhelming to narrow it down to one......that and a tight budget I feel lost in the choices

Cc: i have the brinsea spot check. Im pretty sure i put too much water in at lockdown and blocked the vent holes on the bottom.
Barm, look into dry hatching. It's the best ever. And also ronott1 has the best info on hatching. Maybe he will share his success.

Good idea. Maybe keep a copy at your moms for extra protection.
