I think it will be difficult for it to break out of the shell upside down. I had a wrong ender in cartons. I took it out of the carton and laid it on its side. It did fine

I agree... I had one quail chick die be cause it pipped too far down, and was in the carton (quail egg sized carton).

Take it out and put it on the side.

Watch it though, upside-down pippers sometimes do great...sometimes they bleed to death because they start unzipping on the bottom end where all the blood vessels dry up last
