rooachs omg.. vervhe here hand me the cake I'll save it!
We have those giant flying roaches here that people euphemistically call "palmetto bugs" or "water bugs." Last summer I learned how to trap them, which is a win-win: gets rid of the roaches and makes my hens happy.

Take a big jar with a noticeable "shoulder." Wrap the outside in tape (I use gaff tape) so they'll be able to climb up the sides. Rub some vaseline on the inside of the jar shoulder--roaches can't climb up a concave surface, especially when it's greased.

I leave this in my storage buildings and basement overnight, and come out in the morning to a couple inches of live roaches in each jar (it's like something out of your nightmares, frankly). I take them out and dump them in the chickenyard and the girls go nuts. So far, not a single roach has made it out of the yard alive.

good idea and great treat source sounds like for your girls

Any of you ever try mixing shrimp in cocktail sauce and putting that on top of an avocado?

-Kathy
I bet that would be good on an avocado... Or dice the avocado up and toss it with shrimp coctail

How about Mexican shrimp cocktail.....

ever since I had it I haven't bought regular cocktail sauce..... Mexican Shirmp coctail has diced avocado in it.... Best of both worlds..... Served in a huge beer mug....

I will agree with the cheesecake but I will pass on the lobster. Even though I was born and raised (well until I was almost 10 anyway) near Casco bay in Maine, I don't care for lobster.

While I like lobster I prefer Snow Crab.....

And I prefer cheese cake the kind that is a custard.... Baked in a waterbath.....

any one have Savory Cheese cake..... I have only had it once and Oh my gawd.... baked with creme cheese base but has parmesan and swiss in it..... Had it at a potluck. I am not a baker so never did give it a try.
