I love meat, bloody steak, greasy porkchops, etc. But I love my veggies just as much, they are the first thing I eat, like dessert. Last couple summers I've been doing a fine chop on dandalion greens fresh from the lawn and mixing them in salad. Super good for you. A little bitter but most homegrown lettuce is on the bitter side anyway. New fav, steamed kale, just tried it not to long ago. We always have swiss chard and spinich in the garden, now I'm adding kale, and lots of it so I can freeze some for the chickens in the winter.
I am somewhere in the middle 45 to be exact but I feel 25 most days others end up being 85...... What's all this talk of mushrooms. My wife loves them. I however would much rather eat meat and fresh veggies and leave the fungus alone!!!!!!Jess, hope you know you don't have to be OLD to join this thread. Lots of young at heart - folks on here. I'll just freeze xtra spinich and swiss chard for the chickens then. We grew tons of swiss chard and froze lots of it. It gets tough after freezing?? Went great added to soups (without the stalks)though. Will try russian kale. Haven't tried kale chips yet but I hear they are good.
