what happens?
Instead of the warmed fluids...I use a marinade solution at about 1 cup per pound...wait a while...then inject marinade into the muscles..Add seasonings to the outside of the bird...Then I place the hen in my warm smoke filled smoking grill and wait.

Lol. No offense carsport.

Quote: When I have one that's egg bound I tube warmed fluids at 15ml per pound, wait 60-90 minutes, tube more fluids if crop has cleared and give 50mg calcium gluconate per pound. Then I place the hen in my warm, steam filled bathroom and wait.

Thank you Kathy. I've personally never had to deal with this problem, so I could only provide links to others that have dealt with it.

Somehow BYC says I'm over my limit for rating posts, so couldn't give a thumbs up on this... oh well...

Hey, skiers can behave badly too... at least over here young people have found skis again. I've always liked the sport for the sport itself, not the after-ski stuff, so I was like a elderly person when I was 15 already. I use both a board and skis, but I'm not into the half pipe or jumping, I prefer off piste. My dad has also done slalom all his life, I think I was about two or three when he first took me to the slopes. In the early nineties, or maybe late eighties, snowboards started to find their way to Finland, and my dad was eager to try from the get go. He's now 60 years old and has been snowboarding for over 20 years. Although, it's probably almost 20 years since I first stood on a board too, those things have come pretty far from those day. I learned to board on hard bindings, that's probably why I never learned to like the jumping part, even though I switched to boots and soft bindings pretty quickly. I tried to learn at some point, but it ended in a broken wrist. So I stick to boarding in the forest, when possible.

Scg, and any other north east byc friend: stay safe and keep us posted

The wind. My god, the wind.

There was snow inside the garage this morning. The wind blew it through the tiny cracks in the door frame.

It looks like we've gotten -1 inch of snow so far thanks to the wind. It's blown what we didn't remove after the last storm.

I'm having difficulty logging into the work server this morning. I'm assuming the internet is down in new york (that's where our main servers are).

The tubed water corrects their hydration status, which is very important, especially for laying eggs. As I understand it, the liquid oral calcium can be utilized immediately in birds and will help their muscles in expelling the eggs. It will also help them lay down shell. The steam filled room is a less stressful alternative to giving a warm bath. Never bathe a sick, stressed bird, it can kill them!
