The Old Folks Home

@Ozebill

Awesome development Oz. I know a couple of people who dont have enough brains to pour water out of a bucket who are making a living off Facebook contacts... You should do famously.

Oz, you're going to be a millionaire off of this chicken business soon! Not too much of a stretch in PHP, but still.
I am along way off even a peso millionare ($22,000) but if we can keep this up we could net that in 12 months.

A long long road with many potholes ahead)

Now dodong is seeing cash bonus money as well as his bi-annual accruals, he is very keen to do a good job.

@superchemicalgirl the hen is still hanging in ther. Tonight DSO helped me check he out. The egg I think went the otherway???? Or she isnt egg bound but has some other obstruction?

Does she seem about the same? Is she still eating/drinking/pooping?

I left work early yesterday to come home and clean up from the blizzard:

Everyone was happy to be sprung from their jail. No one seemed injured except the mental anguish you'd expect from being cooped up for almost 48 hours.

This is our weather for tonight:

  • ... WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM FRIDAY TO 10 AM EST SATURDAY...
  • * HAZARD TYPES... HEAVY SNOW.
  • * ACCUMULATIONS... SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 12 INCHES.
  • * VISIBILITIES... ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.
  • A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL... KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT... FOOD... AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

Why on earth do they not mention clothing in that warning? Or a blanket? I'd say freezing to death is probably the first issue, not water, food or a flashlight.

Anyway, hope the snowstorm blows over soon. What kind of temps are you experiencing?

Most of us have a blanket in our vehicles anyway, just in case. I know I have a blanket and a shovel and jumper cables.

This morning I thought the coop gauge said around +20F but I obviously read it wrong since TWC says we're -7F right now... we're in a pocket and usually about 5-10 degrees below that. So I'd say we are close to -20F. It also didn't feel like +20F.

During the day we'll likely be +5 to 20F.

All good things to have in a car. I used to work nights driving around as a security guard, I think I got stuck 7 times one night during a snowstorm. There was a lot of shoveling that night. And cursing.
