Alaskan that is what I have too (MiFi), a "hotspot". It works pretty good it is just a bit pricy compared to DSL especially if you want to stream video (Skype gobbles my data :( )

I have unlimited data :D

All you have to do, is stop paying for any heat, stop buying clothes, never buy meat, and you too can afford it. (at least, that is what I do.... priorities.... I can't get DSL anyway)

Weeeeeeelllll I do have that nasty "fabric" habit I have to feed too so yeah, no unlimited data for me  ;)

Not an option for us at all. It's landline DSL or nothing. We have cell phones but they are just those trakphone ones for when one of us goes to town. Most places up here don't have any cell service unless you are right in town. Even the major highways have so many dead spots everybody knows where you have to talk real fast if you are moving before you get dropped again. You usually know where the "drop zone" starts because there will be a vehicle (or two) sitting along side the road.

I got to understand Africa well when hubs went overseas last yr.

As for computer brands, I haven't found a PC manufacturer I really like yet, but macs seem to be pretty trustworthy. I don't like using them myself, but I have friends who still use their 6-7 years old laptops.
I had my most recent desktop built in 2002

I pay $50 per phone per mo unlimited everything. It is important to me so I budget for it. Just had the repairman here today and he saved me $40 a month, since my landline is no longer analog there is no reason to keep for emergencies. Boom! Plus he said I was paying for speeds I would never get out where I am, so to drop back a pkg and save $$$ and gain speed. Who knew?

There is a fellow in Australia that puts all his roos in a night time coop especially sound proofed... It has pleanty of ventilation but the sound proofng is soo good they can only hear the roos if they are standing right next to the coop....

I dont remember his name... but I thing @ozexpat knows him.
