I actually get a BIG kick out of watching different 80s shows every so often.... where they are in an emergency... and need to find a pay phone... and the very few people who have cell phones.. yep, they look like bricks with these giant antena

Our first cell phone was a "bag phone" - about half as big as an average-sized briefcase.

At about 1:30, Clark Kent realized the moment has come for the Man of Steel to spring into action. All previous Superman incarnations have changed in a phone booth, but the phone booth of 1978 is a little bit different . . . . as a very pointed sizing up by Christopher Reeve makes clear. I'm sure some younger folks watch the movie still; I wonder how many get the joke?

I still have a flip phone, just got the one that is a little bigger, with larger number pads. I think the only thing I would like that the other phones have today is the GPS N.

I agree! But I think she has had this problem on her hd a long time. I told her to download and run combo fix that it would find and fix any problems and make her computer run like new then to download avg for free. She keeps getting cut off line so she can't finish anything she tries. I just had her clear out her cookies and delete the history on her IE.

The best thing to do with a drive that is really messed up is to run window easy transfer and save it to an external drive and the format and re install the OS.

Often is is easier and better to get a new computer box like Oz posted a link for. A dial up modem might be a problem with a new one though. Some are USB but some require an open expansion slot--if so the new computer has to have a compatible slot.

Somewhere between 4 to 6 inches of snow so far. It's supposed to snow until 10 am.



The chick is still alive, standing, but only on one leg. Not really peeping, which is good, I think. I went to the feed store after work and asked about what they had in pain medications. I was trying to make it simple because what I really wanted was a "non steroidal anti inflammatory drug" (aka NSAID) but I figured I'd just ask after the generic topic of pain meds and then find what I wanted.

He tried to sell me penicillin.

I died a little inside. I realize not everyone is a pharmacist, but if you sell it you should know the general category it falls into.

They didn't have any NSAID so I'll be mixing up an ibuprofen cocktail for the chick in a few.


Chick and I also have a date tonight to either watch a movie or read a book, depending on whether s/he can sleep through the movie or not. I'm in love with this stupid chick and I hope it doesn't die.
