You are all killlllling me. Grass, sand, beaches.

Meanwhile in SCG-Land:
* IMPACTS... HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL LEAD TO BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES... MAINLY LATE TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. TRAVEL WILL BE DANGEROUS WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITY. WIND CHILL VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO BE WELL BELOW ZERO SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.

This is the weather I get to look forward to in the next few days (Toto, are you sure we are still in Kansas?!)

Ok, BunnyLady keep it up and I will have hubby go rabbit hunting!!!! that is if he can get out the door without being blown away
Ok, I'll forgive you if you promise to Fedex me and SCG some of your weather!

and this is a city 40 miles from us that is always at least 10o warmer ! Oh, and that "high" was for this morning, dropping temps the rest of the day and of course we are in a windchill warning until noon tomorrow because of wind gusts of up 40 mpg +.
Looking out the window our field looks like one huge snow devil. At least it's quit snowing, not like for poor SCG!

It's not all bad. Have a big pot of chicken stock started on the stove in prep for warm soup for supper. No power failures (we're ready even if it does). Pa and the puppy are curled up in the other recliner with a big blanket watching golf (oh the pretty green stuff). The radiant heater in the coop is cranked up ("official" -15 windchill right now but the wind is blowing away everything not tied down and few things that were-I may not find my favorite feed bucket now till spring) and the chooks are all happily up on their roost, chattering away as they watch the chaos out their window.
Me? I'm curled up in the other recliner, all warm and cozy, thinking how blessed I am this Valentine's Day. Pa and the puppy just went by heading for the bedroom with the thought this might be a good time for a nap. Think I'll join them. Please stay safe everyone and enjoy your weekend.

Chicki our temps are very similar. We are ready for when/if the power goes out, too. Got a nice fire going in the other room and if the power doesn't go out I've got plenty of fabric. Stopped at Joann's this morning and it was mobbed. I forgot how much I hate shopping there. They are so stingy with "extra" fabric when they cut I am certain I didn't get the full yard I paid for. And then they try to sell you all kinds of stuff you don't need. Unfortunately the discount store that I usually go to get fabric (great prices and amazing customer service and great selection) doesn't have Heat N Bond or thread and other non-fabric supplies so I have to brave Joann's every few months.

Anyway, just went out and threw 2 extra shavings bales in the chicken coop. There's a frozen poop stalagmite system growing under the roosts.

About to put on a pot of venison chili and go curl up in the recliner by the fire.

Cynthia u are a dang fox.

Thanks, correction here....used to be a fox..if you say so..this was 8 yrs. ago.

There are photos of Talum and we did go to Playa Del Carmen, and, we stayed at Akamul Beach Resort. Loved that place. Inland, when the hurricane was coming, we stayed at Merida Mexico...got to see what most of Mexico really looks like. Actually considered a pretty nice city. :/ I know that Playa had deaths, the locals often hunker down for these hurricanes, but this was a monster. a 5...it went on it's way to Florida...as a 3.

I was hoping it would warm up soon. We already have over 15" of snow, calling for 7-8 more. There calling for Snow, blowing snow, and dangerous wind chill values. Temp around zero, winds 15 to 25 mph from tonight through Sunday, with gusts up to 45 mph.
Wind chills, 20 to 35 degrees below zero, and as frigid as 40 degrees below zero, from late tonight through Monday morning.
Egads! Either build igloos or move south I'm thinking!

Crazy weather you guys have been having over there! We here in North West Montana have been enjoying 40 degree and sunny weather for the last two weeks. Unusual but much appreciated weather as it is usually still hovering around 20 degrees and lots of snow this time of year.
