The Old Folks Home

@chickadoodles That's the one I was going to buy from Tractor Supply, but everyone told me it was junk. So I'm going to sell our extra minivan and by the Brinsea 20 advanced. Ebay has them the cheapest I could find. Anyone want to buy a 1993 dodge caravan? Slightly used, runs great, drives great, only 268,000 miles. I'll miss her it's the only vehicle I have I don't have to worry about a engine light to pass inspection, pre 1996 in NY I think.

He's doing better today. The swelling has gone down a little more, though they still look gross. He is shaking his head a lot less and crows vigorously in the morning. He's also making his burble noises at me again...I missed that. I let him out of his box this evening and he tried to preen and stretch his wings. He even did a shake and fluff. I put apple cider vinegar in his water. He's back in his box now falling asleep.
Awwww, great news

Frost bite is so ugly.

DH went down to the Chick Days store and -- wouldn't you know it -- no Welsummers came in. So he picked up an Ameraucana (really, a EE) to keep our lone chick company. I thought we should have two chicks in case the White Marans hatchling is a boy (because then you end up with a lone female chick growing out) so I picked up a Minorca.... If I cannot have dark brown eggs then I want large white ones. I think this is how chicken math gets so out of hand, all the rationalizations.

So, once again, I now have more chickens in the house than in the coop. Sigh......

Here are more pictures of the percheron stallion "Moose"

I think this is him as a baby:

Yep one and the same horse.... Windemeres North American Maid - AKA Moose. A Blackhome Duke grandson.... Fabulous bloodlines. He passed away though. He was born in 2006 so if her were a live today hed be nine. He achieved Supreme Champion in 2010 therefore there have been others since

They have The 2014 Juinior Grand Champion stallion Bently

I like this Bently's conformation better... probably as big as Moose when he matures but Hes got great shoulders. All horses mature at about five or six years of age physically. But drafts bulk up more and have much more muscle.... This is the same guy handling Bently as was handling moose as a colt.

And yep they start shoeing the show Drafts as early as six months...

Wow, Bentley sure dwarfs his handler , who I imagine is not short.

Thats him as a youngster too. Probably about three years old. when he grows up hes going to be at least 19 hands... or six foot three at the top of his shoulder. Most horses are around 15 hands or five feet at the shoulder.

I did a little reading and digging and come to find out his handler is also his owner and the owner of that farm link I shared.

To show horses in Halter it takes someone who can run.... for draft horses it takes two people one to handle the horse and another as a motivator or helper...

Here is Bently winning his class.

He was two years old in this video. I would love to see him now.

Buy a usb mouse... it will take over. I regularly wear out mice and keyboards... your laptop should recognize new hardware.
