When my last batch of turkey started hatching and I put them in a brooder the older poult in another brooder with some chicks started throwing a fit wanting in with these poults so I let him in with the. He is not 3 wks. old yet. And before he was two weeks old he was strutting for me.

He has taken on brooding these babies and teaching them to eat and drink. I take him out a few times a day for a break and he lets me know when he wants back in with them.
This is my second young tom to brood babies for me! I love it!

Folks, this is not good. Not good at all. Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza confirmed at Iowa farm with 5.3 million laying hens. That happens to be 10% of Iowa's laying hens. All 5.3 million laying hens must be culled. This is just devastating news.

That is so great! You just might change my mind about turkey!


I suspect thanksgiving is going to be very different this year and maybe next.... sigh

we prefer eating our own homegrown muscovy anyway. So no problems here.

IT will be interesting to see what happens though.
 
Chickadoodles, there has been nothing decent at the Movies for weeks on end. I know I'd rather see a video of your turkey poult caring for the young'uns instead. PUL-LEASE!!
