The Old Folks Home

Deb keep it up! Great job so far. My niece is also doing this challenge that you are doing. I forget where she is on her word count but she is plowing through too. Cheering both of you on!
SCG sent me my own small bulb bomb package last week and I went out last weekend and picked up a few more to bomb a few different places. So far I got the cemetery and original jail in our small town, the 4-H garden in the next town over, right in front of the gun club sign and a few other random spots. It was a blast doing it. I had the whole story set in my mind if anyone asked me what I was doing but no one stopped and asked. I figured if I looked like I should be doing exactly what I was doing no one was going to stop and I was right.
I finished up some Christmas wall hangings this morning before we headed out the door. I will be sending those off this weekend if I have enough mailing envelopes. I am hoping to get the wall hanging for my MIL done this weekend too and start on BIL's Christmas gift. Lots of projects going on right now in the rush before the holidays

Oh, so little time to sew... I miss it.

Welcome to the newcomers
Happy belated birthday to those having birthdays
Coffee brewing, and I just got caught up reading all the posts
I just finished building a ramp for my chicken coop, and am now going to glue the rubbermaid shelving stuff to the ramp. Potential glue disaster awaits.
We've had a warm front, so it's been in the low 90's here the past few days. It had been in the mid 80's, cooling to the low 70's at night.

Bunny, hope the idiots calm down.

Karin is becoming a crazy bunny lady. Went for a walk earlier, she mentioned she was looking at a new bunny. Now she's off fetching it...

And tomorrow we go to a farm fair! Yay!

Congrats on getting there, perchie. Good to hear the blockade has been lifted.

I'm off today (well, I'm off a bit every day, but officially off work today) and waiting for the furnace guy to show up. Last year it took 3 (all day) tries before he was able to show. Going to hopefully get a quick clean of the house done (soon as BF wakes) then get some sewing done today. Still have some outdoor winter prep chores to do but the list is dwindling fast.

Yep and the flood waters ar a rushing... i cant imagine what all needs to be done before winter in Main. meaning I struggle for comprehension....

Last time I really sewed was forty years ago. Couldnt afford a fleece saddle pad so I made one.... I sewed in highschool stuff I couldnt afford to buy That was late sixties early seventies... I wanted to be Goldy Hawn.... I made a dress out of courderoy printed with a smalk paissly print on an off white back ground. It had a single strap that came up the back then the neck was tied with two straps that criss crossed through that strap. empire wasteline and about four inches above my knees. unfortunately that was before the days of panty hose. So I didnt get to wear it much.

Lots of halter tops and victorian tops as well. I couldnt get the hang of pants or I would have made those too.

But I could never do quilting.... I could probably do one of those pictures but it would be a one shot deal.

Crocheting was popular then and mom made me a few dresses... Lined of course. Any thing worn to highschool could not show your tummy or be less than four inches above your knee. and they would measure it. you had to kneel on a chair and they would measure from the seat of the chair to the hem. Too short and you went home.

My last year in highschool those rules fell apart.... Hot pants became the rage.... And Panty hose were common place. So I think the powers that be just gave up.

Bert - ON THE TRACK during the race. Seriously, folks - you really think they loaded a pig in labor into the starting gate? What did she do, lay down in the backstretch, or did she pop one out with every jump? GEEZ.

LOL.... Then dont tell the FB fanatics that there have been several times when horses have Done the big race and foaled the next day....

the only thing the trainers noticed was the horse was a bit slower than than usual but not much.
