The Old Folks Home

Ace hardware is the least expensive that sells FRM and Tucker feeds around here. $10.50 and $11.50 per 50 lb bag.
We have a TSC but only the wealthy can shop there

I have 5 TSCs within 45 minutes of me and a Rural King, so I guess those other places dont feel the need to stock feed. That's cheap though, so good for you!

You can buy layer feed at Costco???

It is 40#s of Organic layer for $18.00. I get it for the girls ever once in a while as a treat. I usually get layeena from TSC.
The local bulk stores here in town carry animal feed.

Yes!
Our closest "city (Ozark, Al)" has layer feed at Napa Auto Parts lol
Not at Napa here.

Our hardware store sells it, too.

As far as the broody goes, at least try to put up wire until you know how the birds will act and you can supervise. I've personally had too many chick deaths from nasty hens in the flock that I thought were sweet hens. I also lost a poult to a psychotic tom (who is as sweet as can be normally) once. He's been fine around all the other chicks/poults, too, before and after. Maybe that one looked at him wrong.
Or made fun of his snood or something.

for what its worth there are Five feed stores within five miles of me... Then there are two in Blossome Valley on the way up to the house. Then in the commuinities on the sixty mile trip. There Are two in Alpine, One in Descanso, ONe in Guatay, One in Pine valley that covers the first thirty miles... Then one in Campo Which is out of the way but they have a good hardware store in conjucnction. Its another twenty miles To campo which adds twenty miles to my trip home.

Then there Used to be a feed store in Boulevard. And right at where you turn up the road to my house there is a fellow that sells hay out of his house.

If you go another thirty miles into the next county you can buy hay from the grower. and he just put up a full on feed store. No delivery though.

So if everything was closed down I could get all I needed at walmart. From Alfalfa horse pellets to chicken feed. Not my first choice but would do in a pinch.

Hay right now is running 16 dollars a bale... I need to get my act to gether and make a full on hay storage area. I have room enough for about 44 bales. (about four and a half months worth)
